Driving on the opposite side of the road.

In Thailand the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. You drive on the right side of the road and the signal lever is on the right side and not on the left. Yes, I know confusing which is why I never tried to drive in Thailand- especially in Bangkok. Thats why I always had a driver. Right Ning?

Tricycle Food Cart on the go. BEEP BEEP

Mr. Liverpool

So we're partying on the beach... drinking, laughing and playing music. This guy and his wife come over. They were attracted by the good energy and the music. Turns out they magnetically dragged over by the guitar. In true thai fashion the English couple are offered a cold beer and a seat. It doesn't take too long for him to ask if he can have a go at the guitar. What did he play? Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton.

Team Building

What is a company trip without TEAM BUILDING? This was fun even though my team lost every event.

Yellow Shirts

Remember when there was that political unrest in Bangkok and people with yellow shirts blocked off the airport back in November? He is one of those guys. He's a restaurant owner in Hua Hin. My co-worker told me he was a hard core supporter and organizer. So... I took his picture.

Get your thai massage on.

There are a hundreds of places to get a Thai massage in Bangkok. The one I frequently went to was this one... Health Land. There are several located around the greater Bangkok area. This particular one was a 7 minute walk from the office. When things got slow or I had time to kill. I'd come here. A 2 hour traditional thai massage cost only THB 450. This place is clean, reasonably priced and the technique is supreme.

Evason Resort

Saatchi Bangkok took over the resort. From 11pm to 6am we had the beach to ourselves. Boos, live music and good vibes under the Southern Thailand night sky.

Saatchi Costume Party

Every year Saatchi Bangkok organizes an all agency trip somewhere. This year's trip was to Hua Hin. Two hours south of Bangkok on the beach. The theme of the night was Tales of the Sea. The best costume won THB 10,000! I lost.

Matisse from Germany

Met this guy half way to Hua Hin. Our bus stopped for gas and I saw this bike. Matisse left Germany 9 months ago. He rode his bike across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and is heading toward Austrailia. All on his bike. What an amazing trip. Makes you wonder what your doing with your life, huh? Chok dee Matisse!

The Ancient Ruins of Ayutthaya

Happy Birthday!!!

Mr. Haegler

Meet Mr. Haegler. A retired banker and restauranteer from Switzerland. Kind enough to share his outdoor table at this nice pub in Sala Daeng with my friend Q and I. The bracelet on his left hand is a memorial and a symbol of survival from the great tsunami that hit Thailand in 2004. He and his friend were on holiday in Phuket. When the tsunami hit he and his friend were using the internet at a local cafe. In the chaos they were separated. Everyone ran to higher ground. The wife of his local friend was on a motorbike, saw Mr. H and drove him up into the hills. Two days later he found his lost friend at a shelter eating breakfast. He has never taken off this bracelet and he never will.

Tree roots embracing Buddha.

Seeing this game me goosebumps. Centuries old. When Burma invade Ayutthaya they destoyed many temples and statues of Buddha. Many were decapitated like this one... to be left for time to deal with. As time passed this tree became the guardian of this stone head of Buddha.

Raffle Prizes

This weekend Saatchi Bangkok is hosting a company trip to Hua Hin. A city on the lower coast at some unnamed resort. Names were drawn from a box for spa packages and private suites. I won the spa package! It's amazing how many friends you make when you're a winner.

Buddha lying down.

Respect the Temple and kick off you your kicks.

Family riding the train from Ayutthaya to Bangkok.

One time during the ride I saw all four of them picking their nose. Digging for boogers is a very open thing to do in Thailand. Everyone does it. Even you... and me.

Obey the rules when visiting the Wat.

Leave your mark and let them know where your from.

Night time view from my apartment balcony in Lat Phrao.

Presenting concepts to Katrina.

Scenes from my morning commute.

Every day I take the MRT subway from Lat Phrao to Silom. From Silom, I transfer to the BTS skytrain to Chong Nonsi. Then, I walk 3 blocks to the Sathorn Tower. All in 30 minutes... 37 minutes if I stop for Cafae Yen.
