Poisonous Jellyfish
While snorkeling at Koh Hong Bay, Julie was stung by jellyfish. In these warm waters there are two common kinds of little jellyfish. The red ones and the white ones. The white ones are poisonous. Imagine patches of giant mosquito bites. Instead of itching, they sting like the wrath of Zeus. Our tour guide Lim immediately grabbed a handful of leaves from a nearby tree. Poured a puddle of bottled water in his palm and mashed the leaves. He rubbed the natural ointment on to her affected area. Within minutes the swelling went down. But it still hurt. Damn you Zeus!
